I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA) in May 2019
Interview
Phone interview for 1.5 hours - focussed on FE, onsite- had 5 rounds: Resume, Design, FE, FE+problem-solving, problem-solving. The panel was very helpful. This role was front-end focussed, so most of the questions were related to the FE.

Interview
Applied for a role after seeing it on LinkedIn. Had first call with HR, who then promised to confirm date of interview. And it all went downhill from there.
- 2.5 month long interview process, very slow, primarily due to time lag between arranging subsequent rounds
- HR personnel here are shocking! I dealt with atleast 5 different people. No phone numbers provided either, so felt very impersonal
- No updates whatsoever through the process. Even when contacted to check, HR ignore emails and don’t bother to respond
- After all of this, had to chase for an update to be told weeks later the role had been withdrawn. Now I know this happens, but the right thing to do is inform candidates who have invested time, effort and energy into an extensive and drawn out interview process
The business people I met were lovely, but honestly the HR needs sorting out. They are the first interaction with prospective candidates, and they need to be acting in a more professional and thoughtful manner.
It’s as much about the candidate liking the company, as it is the other way around!

Interview
Applied for job online and about 10 days later was contacted by HR for a phone screen. That went well and I was impressed by the HR person’s knowledge and skill. She handed me off to her team of support staff after that and it all went downhill from there. From setting up a day-long interview with people for whom I was never even told what their roles in the team are, to interview questions from some technical folks which implied they had no understanding of what lay ahead for the person in this new role, to “losing” my reimbursement check for travel to the interview - this place seems highly disorganized and comes across as anything but a well-oiled machine.
