Why Adp?
Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a coworker, how did you handle it?
Tell me about yourself? What motivates you? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What do you know about ADP? How can you handle a difficult client?
Below are the questions that were sent to me prior to being asked for an interview. They weren't too out of the ordinary except the one asking "What are your career goals" and "How long have you lived here?" and "What city do you live in?". The one asking how long I have lived in Florida is pretty intrusive and seems discriminatory. What makes it his business to know that and how relevant is it to the position? Does he use it to quietly discriminate against people who have moved to the state recently? Length of residency shouldn't matter unless you're going for a position that requires background checks & history for things like working directly with minors or the elderly, etc. Even then, background checks are done AFTER an offer is made and accepted. Not prior. Then asking what city I live in was very strange because it is right there on my resume - if he had read it. Still, why does that matter in a 100% remote position that does not state any need to commute to the HQ/office at any time? Is that another way to quietly discriminate against applicants under the radar? The "career" question is an issue because no one in the modern hiring era asks for career goals anymore, even in corporate professional positions. I verified this with my executive VP spouse. It is a VERY odd and antiquated question to ask someone applying for a basic customer service/call center type position. Not everyone looking for work has specific 'career goals' in mind at this time and generally ones who do are not going to apply to this kind of position. This company is in an industry that does not have much in the way of demand for their services. I have a huge background in call centers & positions that required some level of customer service - direct and indirect. Including handling high-level clients that could buy out this whole company with pocket change for funsies, Surely my "career goals" should be irrelevant with the kind of background I have. Honestly, the main reason I applied to this position that pays much less than what I was making at my last employer, is that most of the current WFH positions require weekends and my family's schedule does not allow for that. So I was willing to take a pay cut just to keep my schedule Mon-Fri only. Then came the phone interview. I really got a sense for how the CEO runs things and while I was on the phone with him, I decided to dig deeper into the company reviews on here. I wish I had done it sooner. Would have saved me the time. Pro tip: READ THEM ALL. The reviews, the "career goal" question, and the phone interview solidified my thought of this guy being a real life "Cleo McDowell" from "Coming to America" when he was telling Akeem that in 20 or 30 years, he too, could have a house like that. He legitimately talked to me like I was a peon - despite my in-depth background and my education. The CEO of this company clearly does not see people who apply or work for him as humans. Based on the job reviews (interesting point that many of the positive ones were all made on the same day or around that same day in Nov 2022...) Written interview questions sent prior to the phonecall: 1. This position is open to residents of Florida only. Do you live in Florida? If so, how long have you lived in Florida? 2. If you are NOT currently employed, please describe your most recent job and the circumstances of your departure. 7. What is your current (or most recent) rate of pay? Example: $12.50 per hour; Another example: $40,000 per year. 8. Have you ever been convicted of a crime? If so, please provide details. 9. What makes you think this position would be a good fit for you? 10. What are your career goals? How do you think this position will fit into your future goals? 11.
