Very conversational and they did not take notes. They each first introduced themselves and asked me to introduce myself. The manager asked me team leadership, research, handling bad teammate, involvement in professional organization. Partner asked about my experience. 2 questions caught me off guard: 1. why did you chose your current firm (a small firm as oppposed to join big 4 after graduation) but i think i gave a good and sincere answer; 2. how do you do in teams (this is very simple question but she didn't phrase it in a behavioral way so i was a little suprised)
Describe a time you were faced with a challenge in a team environment and how you approached it.
What is a current affair/issue occurring in the financial world right now, and how would it affect our company's operations?
There were a lot of behavioral interview questions related to teamwork, attention to detail, influencing change, etc. It helped that through college I was involved in a unique variety of items: professional business fraternity, competitive Indian dance team, and a religious group. These varied experiences and sharing stories in the STARE format (situation, task, action, result, education) came to be very useful throughout the interview process. The interviewer was very empathetic to my situation during the interview. My eyes were watering a ton and I ended up interviewing with one eye closed and watering. The interviewer allowed me to continue and shared that part of the reason for the offer was because I kept my composure through a tough situation.
How would you approach a new client and sell the firms services
