Tell us a little about yourself. What do you know about underwriting? The monthly premium is $230 and is increasing by 20%, what will be the new monthly premium? What are 3 qualities an underwriter should have? What interest you in underwriting? You're talking with a client and discuss that their $670,000 premium will increase by 22%. Please explain how you would provide an estimate as you do not have a calculator near? What is your work ethic like? Something along the lines of "You are in charge of overseeing 10 people on a project and one individual feels you are not qualified to do so and interrupts you in meetings, etc. How would you handle this?" Do you have any reservations about the role? There were more questions, but I unfortunately do not remember them. Questions were basic as they expressed this is an entry-level underwriter position. I prepped a little by googling underwriter interview questions which helped some. Question orders were like basic interview questions from start, then went to behavioral/situational, and then two mental math and something else.
