offline interview with 3 stakeholder, one direct manager, two upper manager, no hard technical question, just your experience, reason of leaving, expected salary, fluent chinese is needed, graduate from china is a plus point, also some telco background is a good point
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at ZTE (Nanjing, Jiangsu) in Jan 2026
Interview
The interview process was mainly technical. I had one round of face-to-face technical interview with two engineers. There was no written test. The interviewer asked questions about Java fundamentals, JVM, Redis, data structures, coding principles, and my previous project experience. The interview lasted about one hour and focused on theoretical knowledge and practical understanding.

Question 1
Can you explain how JVM works and the difference between heap and stack?
Interview was fast. The interviewer is chinese so need to understand english. Try to learn from the company and its products which is mostly publicly available. Also try your best to communicate, the more you understand each other, the more chances they will hire you
