I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Welocalize
Interview
The interview included Recruiter Screen, HM Screen, Take-Home that is not graded until next step (coded 15 hours straight to finish this on time), and final mock panel with Executives to present my findings and recommendations. Leadership is snappy and the company overall is living in the Dinosaur age. Data tech stack is way behind (using PowerBI), but listed Looker just to get visibility. Compensation is way before market (~$25K lower) Not competitive in their market and they are thirsting for innovation because they have people in their business team who have been there for >10 years. Hence, if you want to work for a tech company that is disrespectful and lacking growth then this is the one for you. Positive: the Take-Home was interesting and I learned a lot about correlation/feature engineering.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What did you do during your biotech days? (from HM) Completely irrelevant since I pivoted into tech. Plus, the pace of this interview was equivalent to the flow of molasses. I almost dozed off during this step, but made it to the Technical Screen. I'm pretty sure they are using my ideas I gave them for free because my repo keeps getting cloned.
