Question 1
Skill based job related and competency based interview questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Wells Fargo (Hyderabad)
Interview
The interview process generally has three rounds. The first round is a technical one and would be taken by someone from the team hiring you. Since I was applying for a position on the Microsoft Tech stak, I was mostly asked questions related to OOPS, . NET & SQL. I'm assuming that most of their work is very data intensive. Thus about 40% percent of the interview focused around database concepts.
The second round was taken by a manager, whod ask you both technical and behavioral questions. This would again last about an hour or so.
The final round would be taken by a Director or some business head. For me this was techo-business round. For the last two rounds the technical focus was mostly around application architecture and work done in the current assignment.
Some things that I'd want to highlight about my experience are:
1. The panelists for the first two rounds are NEVER on time. Youmight have to wait 10 minutes and call the HR about the panelists' unavailability. However, it might happen that the HR would be unavailable on call too.
2. The schedule of the interview is not honored at all. I know that the HR takes a lot of effort in arranging for the rounds at a certain date and time. However, the candidate in question too would want to schedule it in accordance with his other daily activities. Since the appointment is mutually beneficial, both parties MUST adhere to it. My 2nd round was rescheduled to 8 PM from the afternoon by the panelist.
3. If the JD mentions that a job is for a location, this fact MUST stick till the end of the process. You cannot update the job location during the interview process. This happened to me in one of my attempts here.
4. I had to wait 3-4 months between my 2nd and 3rd rounds. When the HR called me after the interim, I had actually forgotten which position I had applied to due to the unforeseen passage in time.
5.The HR were very unresponsive during the offer rollout. Calls and emails with queries went unanswered.
The process was mostly just an initial phone call through a recruiter then a lot of meetings and phone call later eventually everything wrapped up. No super technical coding challenge but I already had a pretty strong resume.
