I did a phone screen with HR, then a phone screen with hiring manager. They liked what they heard and brought me in to interview for two different positions. I asked for descriptions of both jobs, since this was different than the role I applied to. I was given a very basic job description for each role.
I met with 9 people over the course of 5 hours and was asked very specific technical questions. Some of which I knew the answer to, some of which I didn't. I thought the interview went well.
I was upfront about my existing salary from the very beginning and was told they determine salary when making an offer. I waited for a week only to be told that one position I was too expensive for (they didn't feel my experience lined up with what the salary I was making) and the other I was missing a key technology (which was never mentioned in the job description or I would have declined the interview as I have never used the product before)
All in all, this was a complete waste of time. It seems like they want to pull in top talent and not pay appropriately for what it costs. I'm annoyed that I spent this much time and energy on this.
