I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA) in Oct 2017
Interview
Given this is an entry-level position I was not expecting a difficult interview. My process included a 30-min phone interview in the morning and received my offer later that afternoon. My interviewer was lovely and explained everything the position entailed and what was to be expected of me. Questions were situational and did not require much thought. Never went in in-person but given I got hired as a temp, they are able to easily let me go if I was a poor fit (hoping this will not be the case).
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA) in Oct 2017
Interview
I submitted my app on 9/27 and received a follow-up email 5 days latter requesting a phone interview. After completing the initial phone screen, I was invited for an on-site interview where I met not only the recruiting team lead (whom I did the phone screen with), but other team leads/managers in the Talent Acquisition Department. I had a final round phone screen with the Senior Associate in Talent Acquisition since I was unable to meet him during my on-site interview. Less than 10 minutes after the last phone screen I was contacted to schedule a follow-up and given an offer 4 hours later. The on-site interview process was a great opportunity to chat and connect with the team face to face. It was also really nice to get a peek inside the office and culture of Wayfair.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time you had to work with a difficult co-worker and how you handled that situation.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wayfair in Apr 2017
Interview
The process was really slow although they bragged to be otherwise
Not once i received feedback without specifically having called first.
I had to go through 4 interviews and every one of the interviewers was asking the exact same questions, Like how is this gonna help them?
The last lady/interviewer was really rude and the only one to ask questions not asked before. The questions were irrelevant, she was unfriendly and made the whole process uncomfortable. I was supposed to work for her as her coordinator. She was asking things and answering at the same time assuming a lot of things without waiting for my response. Of course after this interview i was rejected. Still not a problem since i could not work for her.
By the way as she was interviewing me her current coordinator was there too and she was frightened. She was afraid to speak which made me feel sorry for her and at the same time not wanna have anything to do with a company that said in 4 interviews 20 times that the atmosphere is really friendly.
On the other hand the senior manager seamed friendly and his supervisor too.
Highly not recommended. A complete waste of time
So if you get accepted think twice before doing it
Also expect at least 4 interviews and say at least 3-4 weeks waiting and that if you push them a little by saying that you have other offers too
Suggestions:
Just to the last lady/interviewer that i was supposed to be her coordinator
Next time be more friendly
After making questions wait for the answers without assuming
Treat your colleges better even if they are at lower levels
Lastly you do not have to feel threatened if someone applies for a job and then is suggested for a better position, like in my case.
