I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA) in Nov 2018
Interview
Worked with a recruiter throughout the process. Interview itinerary was composed of a 1:1 phone call regarding prior experiences with a Senior PM, and then went to an onsite interview composed of 2 computational cases and 2 behavioral. Office is going through remodeling and the entrance escalator are a single lane, causing a bottleneck at the front desk. The behavioral cases were very standard and assess how you would fit into the company. Cases were the ones that threw me off as they were very niche. I found it difficult to prepare for them because the role I was applying for didn't have a specific description. For example, if the PM role was logistically oriented, I would've read up on transportation concepts and standard delivery calculations and metrics. If you're good with computing numbers on the fly and with verbal math, you'll do well. Wayfair is going through explosive growth, and if a person were to have seen or heard inklings of the interview questions, it'd be a breeze. I was disappointed that OPI builds most of their tools internally, meaning that your final product will mainly be internal and one-of-kind. There's not much utilization of external vendors/application making it difficult pivot products to another sector.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Improve OTD of parcels by 5%. This new tool created from the project would cost $100K. There are extra numbers that you don't need. Don't start calculating until you walk the interviewer through your thought process. It's not a standard plug and chug equation.
They give you three variables, your objective is to decrease the call time for customer service. Calculate the reduction of call center employee hours that can be attained with a new self service return tool kit. You'll have to do a wireframe of the solution and at the end figure out the percent reduction of customer service call hours.
The first step is a phone screening with HR representative. It is scheduled ahead of time, so you will have time to prepare. After the initial phone screening, you will talk to a manager, and then you will be asked for an in-person interview.

Question 1
Basic questions about my background, questions about how I would handle a few difficult situations.
I was contacted directly by the Operation Manager, who did 2 interviews with me, which were great. After the last one, she went on vacation and the HR team called me after 2 weeks. We had a quick conversation and she would contact on the next day to give me a feedback. However, I only received a generic and automatic email after one week saying they would not proceed with the process.
After doing 3 interviews, being contacted by 3 different people, receiving only a GENERIC and AUTOMATIC email is not how a company should take care of people.
