Recruiter screen, hiring manager interview and a loop of four 45 minute interviews with four wider marketing and creative team members. Overall, the interviews were great conversations with various competency questions, and everyone was welcoming.
However, some discrepancies came to light during negotiations. Firstly, the salary range disclosed at the beginning of the process by the first recruiter did not correlate with the salary offered by the second recruiter, who was the point of contact in the latter stages.
Secondly, during interviews, it was expressed that the role and responsibilities were significantly more senior, even more so than advertised, for example, potentially line managing two direct reports (including someone with the same title). There was little to no room for negotiation; unfortunately, the role fell through. Overall, it was a learning experience, and I learned more about Wayfair's company culture (as flagged in Glassdoor reviews). I wish the company all the best.
