Talked with a recruiter for the first round and then was assigned an incredibly simple take home test.
Recruiter contacted me and passed along a message from their lead where he proceeded to accuse me of stealing code and then chastised me for not including features that weren't included in the directions and scope of the test. Other areas he apparently was upset that I didn't code exactly like him.
Dodged a bullet with this place. They're looking for mind readers, not to mention the insult of accusing me of stealing code when I wrote it all myself.
The Interviewer was kind and informative. However, communication through email was not that smooth. We discussed why I wanted to join the company, what is my salary expectation, and plan for the next 5 years.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Wayfair in Mar 2022
Interview
I have been approached via LinkedIn for my profile and considered for many open positions. The first hiring manager was really quick with answers and very professional. But after the first interview with HR, many things went wrong, showing internal dysfunction and lack of professionalism (wrong link in the invite for interview, rescheduling) . Furthermore, some sessions with different panelists have the exact same questions.
After talking to over 10 (!) people over a period of 5 weeks, I had to chase HR over a week to have an answer about their decision.
They decided not to move on with my application, but suggested to have a chat if I wanted to have more details about the reasons .I shared my availibilities two times for the clarification talk but it took another 10 day for the
HR business partner to eventually get back to me. She called be but was clearly no prepared to any of my questions and had no clue why my application was rejected. I was surprised that such a big company can do such a bad job delivering feedback. It reflects really badly on the work HR is doing , especially because the BP didn't seem to care, which is shocking!!
