I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (Virginia) in May 2015
Interview
Group Interview with three other people. The hiring manager told me that they were doing group interviews throughout the entire week. They took us into the back room and we sat there, answering questions. It was my first job interview, but the questions weren't extraordinarily difficult.
They mostly followed what I would expect any retail store to ask... what's your biggest challenge, what would you consider good customer experience, etc. My interview didn't touch on anything particularly Disney specific, but I'm sure it depends on who the hiring managers are at your location. The whole interview lasted for about an hour. It's important to emphasize your love for Disney and also how much you're willing to do to ensure the guests' happiness. Everyone else had more experience than me, but I was able to impress based on energy/positivity whereas the others didn't show as much spirit.
The hiring manager was very impressed by me and told me I was perfect for the job at the end of the interview. The only reason I didn't end up getting the job was because they were looking for a full year part-time associate, whereas I was moving out of town at the end of the summer for college.
