I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (Newport, Newport, Wales) in Jun 2014
Interview
I got an application form in store (they can't hold CVs). Completed, then was called for a group interview. There were around 10-15 of us in the interview. We were asked at the beginning of the interview to bring a product into the room for a 4 year old girl (I chose an Animator doll). After the group interview, I was invited back for a one-on-one interview and an activity on shop floor where I had to engage with customers.
Questions in group interview included introducing yourself, what 'great' customer service meant to you. Then we had to swap items that we'd brought in, and try and sell what you had. I luckily swapped my Animator doll for another so just said how it was so pretty and you could change its clothes etc. Interviewers are looking for you to say specific things about providing good customer service and going above and beyond. Also why you want to work for Disney - 'I like the films' doesn't really cut it! Need to say about great company values etc etc.
One-on-one interview was more standard questions about my employment history.
Activity on shop floor - they're looking for confidence and engagement. Lose all inhibitions and ask every single person if they need help in a smiley, cheery voice. It's what they expect you to do as a Cast Member so it's a necessary skill to have!
Group interview with a number of different applicants, going through possible scenarios with customers and asked to sell products to an imaginary customer using selling strategies etc to encourage them to buy it
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (Aberdeen, Escocia)
Interview
I had a group interview, we all sat around a table and were asked both individual questions and worked in groups with management walking around listening to us,
It was pretty laid back
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company (Orlando, FL)
Interview
The process was smooth from start to finish. I received clear instructions ahead of time, and the interviewer was kind, professional, and genuinely interested in getting to know me. The interview felt more like a conversation than a test, which really helped calm my nerves.
