I applied online. I interviewed at Walmart (San Bruno, CA) in Jan 2021
Interview
Phone interview includes resume screen, BQ and basic technical questions;
The onsite interview includes product sense, estimation, past experience, analytics, stats, ML, and business cases;
The overall process isn't difficult in tech, but probably it is because the team is not in the Walmart labs. Managers are not quite technical
It was not that bad, 3 initial rounds overall okay, it would have been nice if they added some more depth in questions and asked good questions.
and it would have been great if they call or tell something before interview.
terrible Data Scientist role interview process, took 3 months and got rejected after final interview where the interviewer didn't have my resume and asked something else which the recruiter did not mention to prepare
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Bentonville, AR) in Mar 2026
Interview
A recruiter phone call and then a coding round. SQL medium + predictive modeling. I think the modeling task could be a take-home assignment. However, the test was closed before the promised time. It was a 89-minute test.
