Walmart Department Manager interview questions

I was working there for about 3 in a half months, an opening came up and I applied for it. Then I spoke with the personnel director to make sure I had my preferences set correctly. After that I spoke with the assistant manager who was doing the hiring at the time, and let them know I was interested and would like the interview.

The manager read from a standard booklet. They manager didn't even look me in the eye. They responded with "thank you". Very uncomfortable. I really wish that it was more of a conversation. But I guess it's so that there is no way for someone to feel as if they were treated differently than anyone else and risk a law suit.
