I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Knoxville, TN) in Jul 2018
Interview
The interview process went well. My interviewer was professional and nice, and she mentioned desperately needing someone for the shifts and days I was looking to come on and work. However, the day after I interviewed, she called me to let me know that there was a company-wide hiring freeze. I found it somewhat inconvenient, but hey that’s life! I eventually found another position to work for my schedule. BUT I had a friend working at the Victoria’s Secret I applied to, and she said that not only had she not heard of this hiring freeze, three new girls got brought on in the weeks after I interviewed. At least have the decency upfront to say honestly that you’re not looking to hire me instead of outright lying.
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
