I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Bengaluru) in Jan 2024
Interview
I recently participated in an interview process that began with a group discussion (GD). The GD was quite rigorous and served as an initial filter, with many candidates being eliminated at this stage.
Group Discussion (GD):
The GD was the first step and played a significant role in the selection process. The topics discussed required quick thinking, effective communication, and the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively. The competitive nature of the GD meant that only the candidates who could stand out and contribute meaningfully were selected to proceed to the next round.
Technical Interview:
Following the GD, the interview primarily focused on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and SQL. The questions were designed to assess both theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.
Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA):
The interview included a variety of questions on DSA. These ranged from basic concepts to more complex problems that required a deep understanding of algorithms, their efficiency, and their application in solving real-world problems. The questions tested my ability to think logically and apply the right data structure for a given problem.
SQL:
The SQL portion of the interview assessed my knowledge of database management and my ability to write and optimize SQL queries. The questions covered topics such as joins, subqueries, and data manipulation, reflecting the importance of databases in managing and analyzing data.
Overall Difficulty:
The overall difficulty level of the interview was average. While it was challenging, especially in terms of the depth of knowledge required in DSA and SQL, it was manageable with adequate preparation. The interviewers were thorough but fair, and the questions were aligned with what one would expect for a technical role.
