I was recruited by a Head Hunter, interviewed with them, and was passed into the Internal Varonis Recruitment team. The internal conversation went very well, was interactive and I was moved into the Hiring Manager. I was told there was a sense of urgency as the position had been vacant for a couple of months. I did my research on who I was speaking to and noticed a recent MEDDPICC certification by the hiring manager. We all know the key tenant is to listen and let your prospect talk. Well this guy did just that he spoke about 80% of the 30-minute timeframe asked a couple of generic questions... Why do you want to leave your current job, do you know what we do, and who would you call upon in territory (Rolodex question)? At the end of the 30-minute time, he tells me he's just starting the process (2-months open role), and maybe I should go speak to a couple of VAR's and see if I wanted to work for Varonis. It's a pretty easy answer... PASS. Hiring manager doesn't do his homework and coordinate discussions (just lazy), din not seem interested or already had a selected candidate and that he's doing me a favor speaking with me. Hey guys you came to me, not the other way around... Why would anyone want to leave their current situation for something like this?
