I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Vans
Interview
the hiring process is pretty much your basic group interview, but the key here is being yourself, if you fit the company they will hire you. thats it! be yourself, relax, but if you get the job prepare yourself for a crap ton of work, they will call you pretty quick if u get the job. probably within the next day

I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Vans in Nov 2011
Interview
I had to go through one interview to get the job and we were interviewed in the group. I dressed formal which also helped out. The manager asked each of us different questions like what is your ideal boss, what is your perspective of customer service, and what is your personal story about Vans.

Question 1
The manager asked to choose something that you would never wear and then unexpectedly said to try to sell it to him or her.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vans (El Centro, CA) in Mar 2012
Interview
A new store was being opened in my area I applied online and got a call a couple weeks later. Had my interview on a Monday with out of town managers and the General Manager. The interview was pretty cool there where a couple odd balls in the group who didn't know anything about the company. Next day I get a call that I'm hired and orientation started in a couple days. Most of the people I thought where cool from my interview group where there as well. There was a good 30 people in orientation. We build the store from the ground up we learned about the company and spread the word about Vans opening up in the mall. It was pretty cool meeting and networking with managers that would come in from around the state to help us open the store.
Food for thought.. just be yourself don't put on a persona when being interviewed they can see through it. If you don't know much about the company you are interviewing for, just do a quick search so you don't go in too blind and you show you'd really like to work there.
