I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Vans (Huntington Beach, CA) in Jun 2014
Interview
Southern CA Vans locations send lots of employees to the US Open of Surf (Vans hosts it) during the middle of summer, so they look for a lot of temporary employees in those locations over summer. I applied during that time, and was interviewed by the store manager. The questions were very simple and basic, and the interview took place during daily hours outside the store. The manager was nice and friendly. Vans likes employees to know a bit about the company, so I reviewed the basic history of Vans (founder, etc.) and talked about it a bit. Easy interview.

Q: What can detract from a team's performance?
Q: How do you handle irate customers?
Q: What do you know about Vans?
Group interview process with pretty casual questions. Laidback feel looking for people that would fit in well with the team. I'm a big fan of Vans and seems that employees are pretty passionate about their jobs at all levels.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vans (York, Inglaterra) in Mar 2025
Interview
When I walked into the shop it wasn’t a warm reception, it seemed they didn’t want to acknowledge me until they knew I was there for an interview. but the interview process was very relaxed, they just asked what I knew about the company. What I would do if I wasn’t teaching Sales Targets and when have i gone above and beyond for customers.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vans (Portland, OR) in Oct 2024
Interview
I applied online, a few weeks later I got a call from the store manager to schedule an in-person interview.
The interview was 30ish minutes and very conversational. She asked me about myself, my experience, why I chose to apply, and other perspectives related to the role.
