The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (Brighton, Inglaterra) in Aug 2019
Interview
Overall, a very positive experience. :) Being an Internal Recruiter myself, I can appreciate the efficiency and effort that was put in this. I was approached on 16th Aug and offered on 9th Aug with 3 stage interview process and reference checks.
The interviews were very enjoyable and I actually had a lot of fun. I felt like I was having a conversation rather than being assessed.
I was taken care of at every stage with regular updates and check ins from the team and Managers - it's very rare these days. Big well done to the team!
I applied online. I interviewed at Unity (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Applied online, phone screen, 4x onsite loop, call with no offer
Overall the interview process is easy and quick. I applied online and within the week I got an email asking for a time. It seems most candidates come from applications. The first screen was actually enjoyable and pleasant. However, the onsite interview loop was perplexing and overall it was bizarre and uncomfortable. All but, one interviewer was nice (he was physically in my space and face too much for comfort) and two of the four asked questions from a script. When I tried to understand further about the companies "diversity initiatives" or the potential hierarchy between sourcer and recruiter the response was contradictory and/or not well thought out beyond a buzzword. Overall, it was easy and I could tell after the first interview I was not a "culture" fit to their current team.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
How would attract diverse talent? (Interviewer could not comment on why they look for diversity passed being a buzzword)
I bring my sourcers everywhere but, let's say I'm sick how would you run a hiring manger meeting? Proceeds to say recruiter is the gatekeeper of talent to hiring manager
One interviewer asked me nothing but, told me the values of the company were changing internally but, it was interesting that wasn't reflected externally
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Unity (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
The interview process was fast and efficient. I met with a mix of recruiting leadership and my potential peers. Most people on the ream start as a contractor. The team has recruiting coordinators, sourcers, and full cycle recruiters.
