I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Unity in Dec 2016
Interview
Recruiter reached out to set up a call with a hiring manager. Chatted with a Senior Software Engineer briefly about his role and what his team does, and talked about my experience and past projects. Did not ask about why I wanted to work there, solely focused on describing skills. The team had a big emphasis on JavaScript, which I do not have a lot of experience in, which I think is why I did not move on. Not sure why I was selected for this particular team if it's clear from my resume that I don't have this background. Friendly chat, learned a lot about the company
Thanks for sharing your experience. We take all of this feedback into consideration for interviewer and recruiter training and we appreciate you taking time to share.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Unity (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2016
Interview
Probably one of the best engineering interview processes I've had. Very little whiteboarding; it was mostly 2-on-1 hour long sessions where I was asked about my work ethic, C++ knowledge, or to discuss previous work. Questions were generally open-ended and a platform for lengthy discussion.
The most technical part was a take-home "bug hunt", where I was given some faulty C++ code prior to the interview and asked to identify issues and suggest solutions. We spent the first 1 - 1.5 hours discussing the code and my changes.
The turnaround was also very quick; I had an offer the day after I interviewed.

Question 1
Rate your C++ expertise on a scale of 1-10. Discuss why.
I applied online. I interviewed at Unity (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
My interview was very casual and friendly. No difficult questions were asked besides the typical "how would you approach this situation ". The interview seemed similar to a first date type of situation. Overall it was very enjoyable.
Hiring is so much like dating! You have to make sure it's a great fit for all parties. Thank you taking the time to interview with us in 2015 and hope you've been enjoying your time at Unity since then!
