I applied online. I interviewed at Unity in Jul 2020
Interview
The interview process was 3 rounds that consisted of an initial phone screening, interview with the hiring manager, and then a series of conversations with the rest of the team. I felt the process was very effective for introducing candidates to the multiple team members and adjacent stakeholders that they will be interacting with everyday. All of my interactions with the company were fantastic -- everyone I encountered is smart and passionate. In all, the process was very smooth and inviting which says a lot given the constraints of virtual recruiting as a result of the pandemic.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Unity (Montreal, QC) in May 2020
Interview
I actually went through 2 interview processes, both of which were conducted remotely because of the lockdown. Initially, a recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin for a PM position and I went through the interview funnel for that role, which involved a phone call with the recruiter, followed by a call with the hiring manager, and then a few zoom calls with team members from different disciplines and across different seniorities. All the individuals I spoke with were really great and the conversations were mostly centered around Product Vision and how the PM fits in with and works with the Development team and stakeholders. Based on those interviews, I had a followup call with the hiring manager who offered another role they believed I was a better fit for. I agreed and went through the process for this role meeting with a VP. Due to the 2 different roles, coupled with some internal vacations, the whole process took about 2.5 -3 months, however, the recruiter always kept me in the loop and kept me apprised about next steps. I never felt like I was left hanging and was constantly engaged. All in all, a very positive experience.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Unity (Vancouver, BC) in Jun 2020
Interview
I was contacted by a Unity recruiter who asked me a few questions about my background and what I was looking for in my next role. I expressed interest and I was asked to complete an online screen (90 minutes). Subsequent to that I had another discussion with another recruiter about the role specifics and compensation and then I was scheduled for 4 hours of interviews. One with the unit director, one with a peer for another technical screen and two one on one system design interviews with peers. After that they were quick to extend an offer.
