I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Unity in Dec 2020
Interview
Process was long but not really hard.
I applied during covid so everything was done remotely.
First, I had a quick RH call (30 min) then an hour interview with the team lead to talk about the job and my previous ones. Some background questions but no deep technical ones.
Next one was a more technical one about my previous tasks and technical background with some workflow and real-life scenario questions.
Then there was a coding test of about an hour with two members of the team, the test was not hard, it's mostly testing good practices and algorithm.
Finally, I had a full day of interview with 4 in the same day. Two technical ones : one was a coding review and the second one a small real-life project to profile and optimise. The other two were conversation with some member of the team about work at unity and inside the team.
The complete process was really smooth, everyone was nice and very friendly at all steps. I just missed some information about the total number of interview I had to do so it looked like the process was never ending. But overall it was a good experience.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Unity
Interview
First, I had to apply through the Unity website, with a resume, a cover letter and a portfolio.
I had to wait for about 3 weeks before receiving a positive answer.
Then, I got a short screen call with a technical recruiter, that lasted about 15 minutes. I also had to do a 2-hours Codility coding test.
Afterwards, we moved forward to two other interviews, a technical/portfolio review one, and another with the Hiring Manager, of about 1 hour each.
After that came the reference checks where I had to provide at least 4 references, including former/managers and peers.
The whole process took approximately one month and a half, mainly because we had to match everyone's availability.
I got the offer right after the second interviews, even before the reference checks. Everyone was very nice and friendly during the process, and the recruiter I had the pleasure to work with was very accommodating.
