I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (Vilna) in Apr 2020
Interview
The hiring process consisted of 3 parts
1) Phone call with a recruiter with details about job, and hiring process. It was really straight forward with all necessary information: salary, working hours, work process etc.
2)Test task in Unity engine. For my role, it was a basic task to confirm that I know the basics of scripting and working with Unity. It required some creative thinking and learning, but there were no artifical obstructions and generous deadline of 1 week
3) Video interview with future manager. Interview was straight forward with quessions about my experience, projects and basic knowledge of prgraming and QA
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
Do you have experience in software development or software QA?
I applied online. I interviewed at Unity in Mar 2026
Interview
Applied online. First, a take-home technical task: fixing bugs, implementing features, animations, UI, Timeline sequences in Unity - took 5-7 hours of work. Then a nearly 2-hour video interview with 3 QA Leads. Questions ranged from technical (bug reproduction methodology) to behavioral (why Unity, Unity vs Unreal differences, what does good communication mean to you, etc.). After the interview, was told "we'll get back to you within 2 weeks, usually faster." 12 days of complete silence. Had to send multiple follow-up emails to both recruiters. Finally got a phone call saying "team liked you but position is already filled" - despite the position being open throughout the entire process. No explanation, no feedback, no proactive communication at any point. For a "Junior Student" position, the process felt like a senior-level hiring bar with zero respect for the candidate's time.
