I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Unity (Montreal, QC) in Mar 2017
Interview
Short. I was contacted on Wednesday around 4PM and asked to do a phone interview either the next day or the day after. The self described tech recruiter shouldn't be hiring for communications. She herself is a poor communicator, and clearly has little or no grasp of how PR and media relations is executed at a corporate level (how could she really?). She didn't have to be so dismissive though... I'm a senior professional. Her poor attitude and lack of patience and respect caused a waste of my time and hers, and not they get this review on Glassdoor telling everyone how crappy my experience was. French Canadian recruiter out of their Montreal office. AVOID!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The call only lasted about 15 min (thank god). She babbled on about the company for most of it quite frankly... we do this we do that etc... All information anyone would probably already have if they had done any preparation for the interview. I really was only asked 3 questions:
1- Tell me about your experience?
2- What are you working on now?
3- Have you ever worked for a video-game dev platform before?
No questions about what do you do if "x", do you have good media contacts... pretty much a waste of her time and mine. She was clearly not serious or even prepared. Her Linked In profile says she is a tech recruiter, which may be part of the problem... they shouldn't have her hiring for non-tech positions she obviously doesn't understand.
Thanks for taking the time to interview with us and share your experience. It sounds as if the interview was different than what you were expecting. We're always looking to hire friendly professionals regardless of field of interest and train our recruiters to be engaged and thoughtful. We appreciate the feedback and will share it with team.
