Applied for the RCA position in lyman sc, right on the application it states full time, however, during the group interview (more like a tour than an interview) they stated that you were only guaranteed 1 day a week to cover a route for the regular carrier on their day off. But you had to be available at all times at the drop of a hat if a carrier takes off, so trying to work another job along with the post office would be very difficult. So basically they could guarantee you maybe 100 bucks a week but they had to come first over a full time job. This turned me off to the post office, it's a shame because it could be a really great place to work once you're full time, but that can take years. While you wait for that you have low guaranteed hours, very expensive insurance, no sick leave time, minimal vacation time, and it's hard to use while you are a non career employee. They really need to change the way they hire people if they want great employees to work for them.
