I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Akron, OH) in Dec 2016
Interview
Fill out a simple questionnaire, they call you based on your test score you previously took. The process is they call you in if they need to hire you and whoever has the higher scores gets called in first. Then you have a 3 day orientation. A shadow day to make sure you like the job, and then a road test where you practice driving in the vehicle. Then one week of official training.

I applied online on 1/27/18, I immediately got an email to complete the online personality portion of the 473. After completing that I got an email to schedule an in person proctored 473 exam. I took the 473 on 1/31/18. immediately after the exam I got my results in my email (85.9%). On 2/8/18 I received an email asking for information for a background check and a motor vehicle check. I then received an email on 2/11/18 for my in person interview. there is not much leeway for interviews they tell you the date and time and you show up. My interview was 2/13/18 at 10am. I went in and waited in the break room with 4 other candidates. We were then Brought in one by one to interview. Very basic easy questions. I finally just got word that I am hired on 3/31/18. I will go for my drug test on 4/2/18 and then have my orientation scheduled.
