I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Mobile, AL) in Apr 2015
Interview
The interview was fairly easy. Compared to reading others stories there was only 9 of us who showed up. One guy who asked a ton of questions that the PM had already discussed thoroughly finally decided that he didn't wanna stay any longer. The PM was from another location and was very nice. He told us that he could only guarantee us one day and that we should expect to be on call for the other days. This is a non-career job and full-time may not be available til years down the line. He didn't know the exact pay but knew that it was between $16.20-17.00 per hr. We were told that we may need to use our cars if there wasn't any mail trucks available. He asked basic questions in the interview. He also stated that he will be hiring two people for immediate relief an would be calling to let us know within the next couple of days but would be posting for other positions within the next few weeks, so we shouldn't get discouraged if we didn't hear back soon.
4/14- Applied, took personality test, set appointment for USPS test
4/20- Took test and received results with a score of 90
4/28- Received email about interview

I applied online. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Bakersfield, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
It was about ten of us in a conference room, there were three interviewers, after the interview we had our fingerprints taken and we filled out our w2 forms. Four days later I received the email to take the drug test and to start the process on the background check. Now I'm just waiting on my e-mails to see what is next .

Can you handle working outside in different kind of weather? Why did you quit your last employment? Do you have experience with customer service?
I applied in-person. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Clinton, TN) in Apr 2015
Interview
I applied online, immediately received an email to take online assessment which I did. The next day received an email to schedule 473 exam, took that and passed with a 79.10. About 3 weeks later received email to take drug test and background which I did. Next day received email for interview. There were 6 others there but the interview was 1 on 1. Questions were easy, I feel I did great but then after the interview, she explained how even if she likes an applicant there are other factors like, veterans preference and people with a higher score so and if I don't hear anything keep trying and they also have other areas that are hiring, so that doesn't sound so good but, whatever. I guess it wasn't for me but I will keep trying since I did apply at other facilities too.
Also, they said we would have to deliver mail from our own vehicle.
