I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Phoenix, AZ) in Feb 2011
Interview
First you have to take the test. You either "got it" or you "don't." There really is no in between with this type of material. A lot of memorization, patterns, organization, speed. Ex: The test will list 10 different addresses for you to study, and than they are taken away. You than have to answer questions in regards to the addresses you just studies.

Question 1
After you pass the test, the rest is easy. Just a psychological review, and a "why would you be a good fit for the USPS" type interview. They want to make SURE you are ok with only working 1 day a week if that happens to be the station you get assigned to - but this is mostly NEVER the case after you start working in an actual Post Office.

Interview
It was based on the person who got the best score on the test. The test is based on short term memory. The interview itself is simple and easy. If you are breathing, willing to work, don't care about extreme temperatures, vehicle exhaust inhalation, and have the best test score you will get hired.
