Interview
The bureaucratic steps are strictly followed and everything seem perfectly organized. There is a competency based interview but the members of the interview panel do not necessarily have competences to carry out such interview.

Question 1
Competency based interview implies normally to provide several/different examples. It may occur that the questions from the panel insist that you answer based on a single example. You may end in not knowing what to add to answer properly.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at UNICEF (New York, NY) in Mar 2017
Interview
2 panel interviews + a last interview took place. First interview was held over phone, the panel was consisted of HR person, a person from a section, the supervisor, and one more staff member. Second interview was a bilateral with my supervisor. The final was just to check my acceptance. Overall, the interview followed the competency-based questions, not only technical knowledge, but more focused on how you have learned and how that experience can be applied to the current position.
