In academic research setting, individual lab principal investigator interviews the applicant so interview process can vary. My interview was easy since I previously worked in the same department department as the principal investigator. There were no additional interviews with the management team of the department.

I applied through a consultancy and they did two rounds. One was telephonic and pure technical. Second round was 1:45 mins skype call . There are 3 people including manager datta . They asked me all kind of technical questions on a complete web application. But more than checking my knowledge, I felt like they are trying to make sure I dont answer there questions and prove as if they asked very intelligent question infront of there manager.

Interview
I only had a skype interview, which was pretty easy. The PI asked what I did during my PhD, most challenging stuff. Whether I did the research independently? He explained a lot on his own research. He did contact all the references I provided. Got the offer the next day
