filled out a hard-copy application and delivered it to a manager at Bruin Café; heard back about eight months later; interviewed--basic questions about customer service, what recommendations I would give for additional menu items, etc.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
I was called one week after submitting my online application for a phone interview. I received an invitation for an in person interview the next day. When I arrived to the interview I was given a computer task to complete. After I completed that task, an interviewer stepped in to show me a new task to complete. Finally I was taken to a conference room where I was interviewed for what felt like an eternity. The questions were endless and every question had a follow up question and another follow up question. I felt like I was interviewing for a government job.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2016
Interview
I turned in my resume, and the same day I was given a call to come in for an interview. A student manager asked me a few standard questions about my resume/experience. (I didn't have experience in food service, but in the end, I still got the job.) I dressed business casual, but I don't know if that was necessary. After leaving the interview, I was given another class at 9 o'clock that same night to talk to the actual manager. We talked for over an hour about random things, and then he told me I got the job.
