I applied online. I interviewed at Transport for London
Interview
Competency based interview bases on previous experience. Very relaxed and conversations around projects you have worked on, challenges you faced, lessons learnt etc. One to one interview only. No online tests or telephone interview
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Transport for London (Londres, Inglaterra) in May 2018
Interview
i applied through linkedin, then i got the email from TFL hr asking about expected salary etc. After 1 week got an email that my CV is short listed and there will be telephonic interview. After the telephonic i got the assignment to do it. I did the assignment and passed the test after that i was called up for the final interview and it was STAR based interview question and after waiting 3 weeks i got the following feed back
"The team are looking for the ideal candidate to have not only the technical background but also someone who is highly collaborative and sadly this was evident during your interview."
I don't understand this feedback. HR should have guts to give proper decent feedback to the candidate
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Transport for London (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jun 2018
Interview
I applied to this role in mid-May and they got back to me with an interview invite in June. The interview lasted one hour and a half and it consisted of: a 30-min writing test and a competencies-based interview. The test was alright, however, in normal conditions, you'd need more time to write a 500-word article and come up with two other ideas for future articles. As for the questions, there were only four. I believe I did my best with answering them using the STAR method, however, the feedback I received was that I should have provided more background. In my opinion, there was enough background in my answers, however the interviewers were too busy writing down word by word what I was saying to actually focus on the answer. One time actually, one of them asked me one detail which I had certainly mentioned before . It felt more like I had to make sure they had all written down rather than to focus on my answers.
As somebody else said in another TfL interview review on this platform: they seem more focused on getting the technicality bit right, as HR dictates it, rather then listening to the person and discovering the other skills they are pointing out to. Don't let the method dictate everything! You'll lose out on candidates who are good at their job and not just at faking it at interviews!
