Interview
I recently applied to TfL. I submitted my application form, and was asked to do a Situational Judgements test. Upon passing the SJT I was invited to do a numerical reasoning test a few days after. I was then invited to complete a video interview. The process up to completing my video interview took around 2 weeks. I am yet to hear back from them, so I have selected ‘no offer’.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The video interview featured 5 questions (which were pretty standard and not too demanding), followed by 2 mins to add any additional information. The questions were: Why do I want to work at TfL, Why have I chosen this particular grad programme, Discuss a learning and development opportunity and why I benefitted from it, a question regarding a team project I’ve worked on, and a situational question – in this case it was discussing how I’d deal with a frustrated customer on the Tube.
Describe the interview process: online application with personal infomation- online assessment 1 (feedback report provided in terms of your highest and less developed strengths)- online assessment 2 and video interview (motivations / behaviour questions) - assessment centre
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) What do you know about the TfL and why did you apply for the TfL? 2) Why did you choose this graduate scheme and how does to contribute to the TfL? 3) Describe a learning and development opportunity. 4) Describe a time when you have worked in a team and encouraged the team to work better together. 5) How would you respond to a customer complaint.
Whole process took 5 months. Stage 1 is the form and your details. Stage 2 is the psychometric tests. Stage 3 is the prerecorded video interview questions.
Stage 4 is the assessment centre. Overall it was pretty disorganised, especially the AC stage. Candidates were not given a schedule for the day and not given breaks. HR staff started the day late and AC consisted of interview, presentation and group exercise. Took around 4hrs. It took them 2 weeks before releasing the result of the AC

Incredibly slow and uninformative. Information about each stage is passed across slowly. Invitations to next stage sometimes only allowed a few days in between with little flexibility.
