Interview
I applied online for a vacancy in London. I was then given a telephone interview on data science methodologies and my cv/experience. The telephone interview was fairly standard.
The interview was a two panel interview in their london offices, one interviewer was the head of the team you would be working in, the other was a principal data scientist in another team.
The interview started with a unseen presentation which you had 20 minutes to prepare for. The presentation was about a time you delivered on a machine learning project, there was a checklist of things they wanted you to cover in the presentation such as "what techniques were used".
After preparing for it, you were then given 10 minutes to present the presentation. There were follow up questions surrounding your presentation. Follow up questions mainly focused on the outcome of the project and about the techniques used.
After this, it then went into the formal interview - this was 4 competency questions, which were sent in advance from the recruiter about a week before.
They asked 1 question per competency, and rotated between either panel member asking it. As always in competency based interviews, there were follow up questions. They did explain the competency before asking you the question to remind yourself of what is being asked. They also mentioned that they would prefer answers in the STAR format (or CAR) for your answers.
Overall, the interview process was very well done, the panel members were really attentive and questions were asked with a positive attitude.
I am still awaiting an outcome, but fingers crossed!

Interview
There were two interviewers on the panel, a HR person and a senior manager from operations. The Interview was composed of an unseen presentation, on an example of a time I had applied a statistical technique, followed by around six, preprepared "give me an example of a time when..." questions on the various competencies that had been advertised for the role.
