Toptal interview questions

I sent them my resume with only 1 year of experience. During the initial video interview, they had a hard requirement of 2 years. They wouldn't let me even attempt the algorithm which I'm very confident I could pass. My year was at a startup so I've done full applications as a sole developer and lead developer. Why waste my time if you're going to hard reject based on years of experience when you have my resume beforehand? I have a year of side projects before my year of professional experience but that doesn't count. Interview lasted about 5 mins. Cut me off and wouldn't give me a chance to prove myself.

I went to the last stage and committed home assignment. I delivered everything in full working order. While presenting, everything was complete. He asked me why I didn't do XXX that had nothing to do with the request, and I showed the mail to him and said that such a thing was not wanted. then 1 hour later I got a mail saying that my skills are not enough :) Please do not waste your time with this company.
