I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thoughtworks (Nueva Delhi) in Oct 2021
Interview
I was approached through a referral. The whole process was virtually conducted.
1) Received a call from recruiter explaining organization culture and hiring process.
2) One on One pairing round was conducted. Here your design and object-oriented skills are judged. I was able to clear this round.
3) Technical discussion - Two interviewers were their to take the interview. One was observing silently.
In this round, the person mainly focused on the things at the abstract level and he was expecting me to answer the questions as per his understanding. This round was not at all interactive. I was sensing that his mindset is "His way is the only way".
Surprisingly he didn't ask a single question from my primary skillset i.e JAVA. After the interview, it felt like I wasted my precious 1.5 hours.
Thankfully, I was not selected in this round.
The recruiter was really nice and cooperative and the person taking the first round was very interactive and professional.
Advice for TW- Kindly align the right people in the interview panel. One who can also focus on the primary skillset of the candidate and be more interactive with the right minset.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Thoughtworks (Singapur) in May 2026
Interview
The recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn to ask whether interested in the above role. So, I decided to give it a try.
The interviewers were professional and the interviews went well.
It consists of multiple rounds including- 1. Recruiter screen 2. Code pairing interview 3. Technical interview 4. Cultural fit and leadership interview.
After I been through final round interview I was rejected although they claimed I did well in final round.
The feedback given was because the company felt my experiences did not align with their current project needs.
What was disappointing is that this should have been identified during the initial screening stage, as my background was clearly stated in my resume and also during the recruiter screening.
Progressing a candidate through multiple interview rounds, including the final interview, only to reject them for an apparent experience mismatch feels like a waste of the candidate’s time.
The recruitment process was also poorly handled. I only received the update for each interview session after I followed up for a status update, rather than being proactively informed.
Overall, I would not recommend the interview process due to the inefficient screening and communication.
Do not waste your time as I feel they are using candidates to collect certain data or doing market surveys through these processes.
