I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Indianapolis, IN) in Jan 2019
Interview
The interview process was very straightforward and good for a job as someone who was also a full-time college student. The interviewer also did the skills test, so if you pass the skills test, chances are you will have the job.
Easy, asks relevant questions. Casual, you should know the job and be ready to show up early and take it seriously. You’ll be the best at the job if you just do that.
Couple of behavioral / skill questions related to the training classes. Know all the types of saves and when to perform them. Also, know how to answer situational changes. 1 short interview with the lead Aquatics director. Offer next day

Question 1
What would you do if a child was unconscious on the pool deck?
Interviewing can be nerve-wracking, but preparation builds confidence. Research the company, practice answers, and dress professionally. Stay calm, listen carefully, and ask thoughtful questions to show genuine interest and enthusiasm.
