I applied for a position at EK in October 2024. After about one to two weeks the application status is updated to review. A few weeks later, I received an email link for online tests, which I assumed were designed to assess basic cognitive ability (or to make sure the applicant is SANE).
A few days later, I received an email with details about an interview. Since I was currently employed I requested a rescheduling of the interview to accommodate my work schedule but the recruiter did not respond to my request, which led me to assume it would be NO. So I had to take a day off from my current job to attend the interview.
Upon arriving for the interview, I was disappointed by the overall atmosphere. The interaction with the interview panel felt distant and somewhat arrogant. There was little warmth or communication and I was surprised by the lack of engagement from the team. The interview itself was not challenging consisting of very basic questions primarily based on my CV. I felt that the recruiter was not well-versed in the specifics of the role which further contributed to a lack of clarity during the process.
A week after the interview I received an email notifying me that I was unsuccessful. However, just a few days later I was contacted with an offer for the position. This sudden change in decision looked really UNPROFESSIONAL and I ultimately chose to DECLINE the offer due to the lack of professionalism and inconsistency shown throughout the process.
Overall my experience with Emirates was disappointing and I felt that the recruitment process could have been handled with more transparency and professionalism.
