I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thales (Plantation, FL) in Dec 2013
Interview
After an screening phone call, the interview Process took an entire day at Thales site. I talked to 5 or 6 engineers and the head of the HR department. There was a basic programming exercise too. It was very casual and relaxed, they give a lot of importance to the personality and how they candidates interact.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
HR brought the most unexpected questions like what was the last book you read? or if you could meet with any character in history, dead or alive, which one would be and why?. Also asked questions like what your collegues would say about you or what qualities you appreciate in a manager.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thales (Singapur) in May 2026
Interview
When arranging a date for the first round online interview, they allowed me to pick a public holiday so I did just that. But no one came. I sat there waiting for a full 30 minutes before I left. Afterwards, they clarified that the interviewer was on holiday and asked me to wait for new updates. There is no update ever since.
Completely unrealistic in terms of expectations, HR and Management left me with the impression that they did not really want to hire anyone. I was left wondering why they even invited me in the first place. Applied to a job that I currently hold in a another company, which ultimately seemed to confuse them as they kept talking about the complexities of a job in Thales, even to someone that is working within the sector.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
None in particular stood out, they seemed more interested in explaining the company than asking for any qualifications.
Phone interview first for communication and basic qualifications, then afterward a technical interview to evaluate problem solving and coding skills through live questioning. I heard back within a week of technical interview
