This is strictly online, with no in-person components at all. The questions are fairly simple and straightforward. I previously completed a typing test and several other online "exams" to take as part of the process.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Tesla (San Jose, CA)
Interview
Fast paced. Behavioral. Asked about why Tesla. They mixed technicals and behavioral but felt sort of messy. It was one round then super day. Had some exercises in excel and some basic accounting questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) in Dec 2024
Interview
The interview process consisted of two rounds. The first round was a virtual behavioral interview with an HR representative, where I was asked about my background, experiences, and interest in automotive coatings. The second round was technical, conducted by a panel of engineers. They asked detailed questions about paint application systems, defect analysis, and surface preparation techniques. I was also given a case study to evaluate a paint defect scenario and propose a solution. The interviewers were friendly and gave me time to think through my responses.
