I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Berlín) in Apr 2022
Interview
- First step; Basic HR interview, some questions about background experience.
- Second step; Basic interview with department manager, he tried to get in technical details but we didn't have enough time left and I couldn't get depth.
- Third step; Technical interview with staff manager from US, I talked about my background for 5 min and remanining 25 min was full of technical questions related to my background. I believe that I answered all question correctly instead of one.
- After last interview I got an e-mail that I have rejected.
My overall experience is fairly positive. All interviewers were very helpful and all process was well structered. They informed me about interview scheduling day by day.

Interview
Submitted the below feedback on my interview experience, only to have my entire Tesla career profile deleted. Appalling, I am curious why no one speaks out about this level of abusive candidate management.
Questioned areas that were out of reach from my past experiences (CV) and engineering study. In specific, I have the following to detail:
1. I was questioned on SQL coding and understanding behind PLC's. I am not sure whether my CV was read, but I studied Mechanical Engineering and never was in a role where the electrical/electronic part was within my scope of work.
2. I was asked for understanding behind electrical diagrams, I unfortunately, again did not study this area nor was I exposed to this during my engineering career.
3. I was tested on engineering fundamentals which I have not touched base for 5 years. I would have appreciated knowing that this was in the scope of the interview so as to brush up on the topics – I understood the role was not a fresh-out-of-university one, and instead someone with some experience.
4. My experiences with suppliers, operations (technicians and engineering) and maintenance/reliability were mostly ignored.
5. The interviewer immediately informed me that I will not proceed to the next stages in between responding to my first question. I was not allowed to ask any further questions and found the feedback from him highly unprofessional.
