I recalled and related the story of a time when I was working as a community manager and had a hypothesis about community members' expected behaviour on a particular platform. The original hypothesis was strongly built on actual feedback from new community members and how they expected that they would use the system. Over time (and with experience) though, members would tend to change their behaviour. By interviewing more experienced members of the community (and referencing behavioural data) I realised the original hypothesis became less valid the longer that a member remained on the platform.
