I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Tata Steel (Jamshedpur) in Jan 2008
Interview
The selection procedure consisted of a group discussion followed by an interview.
The topic of the GD was: Will China overtake India in terms of industrialisation?
In the interview I was asked core metallurgical questions, specially related to mechanical behaviour of materials eg: stress strain curve, plasticity etc
The interview process was intense and not at all easy especially the focus on the safety, More than half of time safety was discussed and technical and HR rounds are also a bit ok. Overall the process is lengthhly.
Good interview process that helped them gauge my skill sets in a holistic purview. The questions were aligned to my knowledge of the company and the role I was gonna hired for
The interview is two rounds. One is functional and other is HR. Functional role asked about the best practices in industry, innovations in supply chain, areas of improvement in sustainability. They also asked about the soft skills and hard skills.
