I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2011
Interview
I applied online through my university job website. I was contacted later in the week for a brief phone interview and was told that I would receive notification if I advanced to the next level. The representative asked a few behavioral questions and warned me that the in person interviews would be the same.
I received an email to schedule a session to come in for a hour and a half. When I went in for my interview they ask an ice breaker question and then directly go into the behavioral questions. There are 5 questions. I did 3 one on one interviews that day. Most of the people had worked with Target for over 10 years which was a great thing to see. I was there for almost 3 hours so be prepared to stay if you do well.
I scheduled a phone interview with the Human Resource Manager for Friday (the end of that week, it was Tuesday). She also asked behavioral questions. I was told the next week that I got the offer.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
