I applied online. I interviewed at Target in Nov 2023
Interview
After applying and scheduling an interview on the recruiters calendar. He reached out to let me know the target salary was slightly lower than what I had listed on the application. I enjoyed that transparency. When we had our phone call, he couldn’t remember if he’d had, a conversation about salary with me already. I had to remind him that yes he had reached out by email and I was still willing to have the conversation. He then let me know that the position I had applied for was not actually open and it might not be at the store where I had applied. He let me know several stores within a geographic area that it may be at and after some shuffling of positions in the geographic area partway through my training I would be told which location I would work at. I asked several questions about why this was their practice, but he seemed most interested in determining the farthest locations commutablity for me. I take this as that is the location they want me at. I explained why I felt it was necessary to know the location and the team and the areas of focus that a manager should be entering, but apparently this is not the way target does it. He was surprised when I withdrew my candidacy and he ended the call quite quickly. Also, he got a text message from UPS that was clearly spam partway through our call and seemed to feel it necessary to read that out loud to me.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
