      Executive Team Leader Interview

      Jun 20, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (New York, NY) in Apr 2012

      Interview

I first got in contact with a member of Target's HR team through LinkedIn. They had posted something about the position and I requested more information. After sending my resume, the same recruiter set up a phone interview to talk more about the position and my qualifications. Immediately after the interview she scheduled another phone interview for me and another recruiter. The first recruiter was very helpful and answered a lot of questions I had about the company/culture and expectations. Recruiter also suggested that I research and practice "situational based questions" as those are what the next few rounds would consist of. At my second phone interview the recruiter asked about 5 situational based questions, but let me know about the format of the interview before we began. Also very helpful, and let me know that I had made it to the next round. Also told me who I should expect to hear from, and when. I heard back sooner than I was told I would. Following that I had 1:1 interviews with the district leader and HR district parter. The interviews were on the same day, and back to back. I was told to expect to stay in interviews for 1.5 hrs, I was done in around 45minutes. I was told I would hear back within the week and it only took about 2 days. I was scheduled to then have a job shadow. I was assigned an ETL at a district store and they showed me around and explained a lot of things. Remember, it's still part of the interview process, so be professional. A recruiter called to follow up with me about the shadow, and I then realized that some things were taken out of context. I made it through and then met with a group leader and was again asked some situational questions, but also questions about my resume, school, other jobs and my favorite course. I was told I would hear back within the week, after a week I heard nothing. Followed up, got an offer soon after. Remember to be consistent and clear!

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)

      Interview

It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
