Recruter reached out to me on linkedin in and followed up with a phone screen with technical questions, ie SQL joins, proxy servers, network permissions, etc.
After the phone screen I was asked to complete a take-home project with Tableau. Once they looked it over I was asked for an on-site interview.
The on-site interview started off with the recruter, technical support engineer, manager, technical screening, director of support and then the recruiter again. The interview started rough; the first interviewer was out sick and the fill-in was late. They finally found an engineer to talk with me who was great. Other than that the interviews were pretty standard. They really want to make sure you're a good cultural fit.
They asked me to come back for a 2nd round of interviews to make sure I'm the right fit. I meet with the recruiter, director of support, VP of support, and two more managers. I was caught off guard by a few of the last manager's questions, they were more programming focused and I hadn't anticipated that.
The recruiter got in touch with me a few days later and said I didn't have enough programming experience for a Sr. position but could still be a fit for a technical support engineer. The salary didn't meet what I was looking for so I didn't pursue it.
I had a great experience meeting everyone at Tableau and hope I can find a position that fits better someday.
